Dear Iran Lovers
I designed this Flag to serve as an alternative compromise to all Iranian Flags.
I am running a serious campaign to represent this New Iran Flag to Los Angeles and all cites or countries out of Iran, A flag that can teach and educate others about our History and Iran in general. Anyone that can promote this flag, will unite Iranians specially our younger generation that need to know about Iran and the glorious history behind it.
For over 44 years Iranians outside of IRAN do not have a reflective Flag. Now with your help we can have one.

I attended many Iranian events in United States and noticed that at most of these events, there is no single Banner or flag representing our country. I understand there is a difference of opinion relating to either of our flags, and using a plain 3-color flag could easily be mistaken as a Mexican or Italian flag; therefore, I designed this beautiful flag with symbols to make the most meaningful flag representing Iran.
If you like to use this Flag in your events, billboards, programs, protests, or would like to install it in a public place, like a storefront, I will be happy to provide you with one or a few of this large 3’x 5’ feet flag, absolutely Free.

This design is self-explanatory and it covers our History, Geography, Economy, Culture & more. Why do we need this Banner?
1- It shows who we are in front of viewers or the media. Over 99% of Americans don’t recognize IRAN flag. This flag is 100% recognizable by anyone who sees it.
2- It shows our Map, Tehran- the capital, the Persian Gulf and the Caspian Sea. (If we don’t claim Persian Gulf in our flag, it will change to Arabic gulf very soon).
3-It represents our history, from the Persian Empire that was the world’s superpower for over 1000 years, our ancient symbols, soldiers, the first Flag of the Achaemenid Empire (for over 220 years, ruled over 44% of world population), Flag of Ashkanian (for over 400 years) and Sasanian dynasty (Derafsh Kaviani) (for over 427 years, ruled over 37% of world population). 4- It represents our economy, money, exports, handicrafts, airline (Iran Air), and more.
5- It represents our Culture, most popular Sports, Architecture, National Flower (Laleh or the Tulip), Persian designs (Terme), our language and Poets like Ferdowsi who through his Shahnameh managed to preserve the Farsi language after the Arab invasions. Our first religion, Zoroastrianism represented by Ahuramazda, as well as our first coin “Daric” made by Darius I, and our first Alphabet, are also presented.
6- It has the Cyrus Cylinder, showing the world our contribution to Human Rights, Equality and Freedom.
7- Unbelievably, our current Iranian flag has only Arabic writing!! Arabs invaded Iran 1400 years ago and killed more Iranians than anyone else in our history.
8- for the past 4770 years of Iran history, when any dynasty changed in Iran, Iranian had changed or modified their flags, if we are really looking for a change, it is now the best time to do it.
9- We need a meaningful flag that shows all of the above and helps educate others and represent us among non-Persians at a glance.
10- Hopefully this flag will unite all Iranians around a flag they can all be proud of.
11- Little history for those that think lion & sun should be our only flag. In 15th century Middle East, the major powers in that time was the Turkish Ottoman Empire. They were expanding to Europe and other parts of Middle East, they were extreme Sunni Muslims. The other major power was Persia , in 1576 Safavied king Shah Ismail II wanted to show the world and Ottomans that Persia is only accepting Islamic Shia, so in their flag they changed the “Sheep” to “Lion” as symbol of Imam Ali (Lion of God) and Sun as “Glory of religion” shining through him (Imam Ali). Moreover, in 1526, The Mughal Empire in India that was established and ruled by a Muslim dynasty with Turco-Mongol roots and Indo-Persian culture had exact same Lion & Sun in the middle of their flag. Somehow the Turkish speaking Shah Ismail II adopt the same Lion & Sun in our flag.In reality, the religion, Islamic Shia & Turco-Mogols influences where the only reason behind the single Lion & Sun in our flag.In this new Flag, by having 2 lions, one in each side facing our map symbolizing our power, which protects our country and our borders, and the sun that shines through the grand lands of Iran, when it was the center of the ancient world and will always be a great nation. This new design will change the religious flag to a meaningful flag, with symbols presents our amazing history.

“How big was Iran?”
2500 years ago Persian Empire was created by Cyrus the Great by uniting Meds, Persians and all states and tribes to become the largest empire yet seen and the first world largest empire. It covered a section of the world that is recently known as the “Middle East”. It became the center of the Ancient World.
At the height of its power after conquest of Egypt, the Empire got so vast, spanning three continents: Asia, Africa and Europe. At its greatest extent the Empire included the modern territories of Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Syria, Jordan, Israel, Palestine, Lebanon all significant population centers of Ancient Egypt, As far west as Libya, northern Saudi Arabia part of Oman and the UAE. Turkey, Cyprus, Thrace, Macedonia in Balkans, Much of the Black Sea costal regions, Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan , Afghanistan, Pakistan, and cross to part of India.
The Persian Empire eventually ruled over a significant portion of the Ancient World, with over 5.5 Million Square Kilometer. It was the largest Empire that world have ever seen, even exceeded the size and wealth of Roman Empire at its height, four hundred years later.

My design for Cyrus Cylinder sculptor fully represents Cyrus the Great and the amazing Persian Empire founded by him.
This design contains all the Persian Achaemenid dynasty characters and symbols.
Starts with designs from Persepolis (the shining ceremonial capital of Persia 2500 years ago) columns with the bull’s heads, the immortal Guards, Lions with wings, the first gold Coin, picture of Cyrus The Great and our first religion, Zoroastrian represented by Ahuramazda.
On one side, picture of Cyrus tomb in Pasargadae (The city that he built) in IRAN and the Flag of Persian Empire is shown.
On the other side, it has the detailed map of Persian Empire, showing the size of the largest ancient empire at that time covering over 5.5 million square kilometers from Asia to Africa and part of Europe. Persia was the largest empire in the world by population. Around 50 million people used to live in Persian Empire, which was 44.7% of the entire world population that was 112 million in that time. (USA have 4.3% of world population today, UK today or Ancient Greek less than 1%)

The Cyrus Cylinder by itself on the top, shows the world, Iran’s contribution to Human Rights, Equality and Freedom under his empire. He based his laws by respecting all nations, religions and colors equally. A replica of the Cyrus Cylinder is displayed in the United Nation.
Materials to build this Cyrus Cylinder sculptor:
This design available for free for anyone that want to build one, if you help to build this in your city or town, it will be a great architectural achievement for all Iranian in that city.
The cylinder and columns and most of this art can be made of Resin, side walls can be stainless steel or formed concrete. Also we can build it by carved marble (built in overseas in reasonable price), I built a small section of Persepolis in my yard with over 25 Tons of carved marble, it will last hundreds of years and it looks totally beautiful.
